The president of OAU student union, Mr Ibukun during a press conference yesterday cleared the air on controversy surrounding the purchase of the bus by his administration.
In his words , he said the purchase of the bus was meant for transportation not for student union, "I didn't buy the bus for student union but for transportation. That is why I have to buy a fine and moderate bus."
On the issue of the price of the bus, the president stated that the bus was purchased for #2.5million not #3million. He said he didn't inflate the price of the bus. He said he is open to give out the keys to any one that wishes to take the bus to any Car dealer and if the bus is said to be worth less than the said price and he would willingly resign .
He also said he wrote a letter to the Independent Corrupt Practice and other related offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)to investigate a financial dealing and the two agencies have responded stating the evidences needed should be sent to them
He admitted mistake in the purchase of the first bus, he assured students that he will setup a committee when it is time to bus the second bus for the mistake not to repeat itself
